Good for what it is Jan 30, 2009 If you want a home cinema experience, look elsewhere. This probably isn't going to do the job. However, if you want to give your young kids (older children might turn their nose up at the quality) a fun film-watching experience, this is fine. You'll need near complete darkness for a satisfying image, but you'll still have to contend with a somewhat grainy image - like looking through a screen door. Subtitles or anything else you have to read onscreen can be problematic too. On the plus side, it's easy to use and portable - we've used it outside, projecting onto the garage and taken it with us when we go to hotels and projected onto the room's walls. Focus is manual plus you can adjust colour, tint, brightness, contrast, widescreen, etc. It's quiet and we add good computer speakers to give it more oomph for outside, tho it's fine without them inside. The top does open a little too easily if you're messing around with the buttons, which can be annoying, but on the whole it does the job. If you're looking to spend a fair amount of money on this, though, I'd check out Moviemates and Optimas instead.
Good buy for the money Sep 20, 2008 We set up the projector in the back yard using a sheet as the screen and it worked great. The sound is a little low which is the only issue. The picture is also a bit grainy if you try to enlarge the screen too much.
Zoombox DVD May 19, 2008 Quick Delivery and great price. This is great for the price. The quality is pretty good for showing family DVDs or if the kids are playing games. If you are looking for something high quality, this is not what you're looking for. But I use it for family gatherings and it is a huge hit. My kids also use it to play their video games and they love it.
Great concept but what a junk for the money we paid Dec 20, 2007 I bought this toy after I have read the reviews so I was ready for the poor resolution issue. My son still liked it but we were only able to watch 1 DVD before the controls failed. I packed the unit and returned it back to the store for refund.
Zoombox Fun Dec 05, 2007 I purchased two of these electronics devices in October 2006, one for my 15 year old son in Oregon for his use and one which he brought to me during his visit in December 2006 to Argentina where I now live. He loves his and uses it in almost every room of the house. I take mine with me when I travel to remote places and towns all over Argentina so as to be afforded the pleasures of my DVD library and for friends to watch with me. It is a fantastic little machine and if it were possible to buy more, I have about 20 friends here that would buy one tomorrow. It's a great value for the dollar.
