Great teaching item Jan 30, 2008
By Bobbie This is a great tool for helping kids learn while playing and having fun. Good way to start them off learning letters, sounds. Not sure about writing...haven't gotten that far.

I bought this for my niece's 3rd birthday and she was so happy with it. My sister tells me she plays with it everyday and has learned so much from it. I bought her the one that says a for ant and b for bee this one on amazon has different words for the letter but it's still the same toy. So glad I made my niece happy.

Fun toy for 3+ years. Mar 30, 2009
By R. Churchill My daughter is only 2 years of age. She received this toy as a birthday gift. She loves pushing buttons so she loves this toy. I wouldn't recommend this as an "educational" toy. The mechanical voice isn't clear enough for her to understand what's being said, but she does enjoy the fact that it makes noise in response to pushing a button!Vtech - Write & Learn Letter Book

Not what I expected Mar 05, 2010
By Katie I bought this for my four year old grandson, to help with letter formation. As your finger starts to follow and trace the letter, the voice goes back to the beginning and never gets to the ending steps. Also, it jumps around from one activity to another as you turn pages. Seems like there should be a separate "story" button. I had to send the first one I ordered back because the volume was too low and could not be turned up. The volume is o.k. on this one, but I wonder if the wiring is off in other areas. It's just not what I was expecting, as other Vtech items I have purchased were quite good.
