GREAT plush with one AWFUL flaw Dec 08, 2008
By Jack Kal I've been a huge fan of Godzilla since I was a tot. I mean, he's a giant dinosaur with atomic breath who smashes building and rumbles with other oversized animals... what's not to love? When I saw this plush, I knew I had to get it.
Appearance: Does he look exactly like Godzilla? Well, yes and no. I mean, he's got the plates in back, sharp teeth and a slightly resembles a T-rex, so all the basics are there. However, to say he's a spittin' image of Godzilla wouldn't be totally accurate. Regardless, I think he looks really good.
Durability: Seems rather durable, though I'm not sure that he'd stand up to a child's rough play. Then again, he's supposed to be a collector's item, mostly for show.
Fun: You press his chest and you hear the Godzilla roar that we all know and love. Plus, his eyes glow red! Very cool. Very fun.
The one problem: So, he roars and his eyes glow, right? Well, yes. So, you'd figure there would be a flap or opening where one could access in innards and replace the battery when it (inevitably, sooner or later) dies. Well, there isn't. I've searched over and over (in the event that I'm not smart and am unable to find a velcro-sealed opening or something along those lines) and there absolutely is not. There's nothing on the tag that even mentions batteries. Why have Godzilla roar and glow and not offer a way in which his batteries can be replaced? That's a huge design flaw that I cannot fathom they didn't address. If not for this flaw, I'd rate him a full 5/5 stars.

Great Office Mascott Aug 28, 2009
By Creative Stew Bought this for the office. When that unrully customer - or distant office that just complains about anything and everything - calls or emails, a quick press of the chest and Godzilla roars three times, his eyes light up and blink - and everyone gets a chuckle with the "venting" of our frustration. Don't know how it would last up against younger kids, but our 35 to 60 years old here like it.
What amazing detail! If it wasn't for just one thing.... May 20, 2012
By DeviantSon13 Wow! What an amazingly detailed Godzilla! This is definitely one of the finest of its kind to ever be made. It's far more detailed than most of the other Godzilla plush toys. The skin is detailed with nice darkly colored scales. The knees are more pronounced for a much stronger look. The back plates look great and the demeanor of this Godzilla is as scary as cuddly could get! He seems to be modeled after the "All-Out Attack" Godzilla from the 2001 film- one of my personal favorites.
The roar of Godzilla is also surprisingly authentic. It's the deeper, more guttural roar of the 1950's and 1980's Godzilla. And his glowing red eyes are just a screaming delight! He roars 3 times before stopping.
There's just one small thing, though. Once the battery dies, it's done for good. It's sewn inside, which is rather sad. So be sparing with how much you use the roar.
That one flaw aside, this is one of the most detailed, if not THE most detailed plush to date. It looks great and sounds great! It's the perfect Godzilla plush!
It's Cuddly Godzilla, Finally!!! Oct 01, 2010
By Ariel I am a HUGE Godzilla fan, have loved the giant monster since I was a baby, and so finding this guy was a real gem for me. The roar isn't quite the full Godzilla roar, but that's fine, the eyes lighting up is fun as well, and the tag on his arm is educational, or at least as an explanation of how the monster came to be. Would I recommend this for children? No, maybe older kids would be fine with this, but I don't believe Godzilla could stand up to the rough play little kids are known for. Still, it's cuddly Godzilla, what's not to love? Five stars!
Great until the Battery Dies... Oct 28, 2009
By NC_Amazon_User Battery is sealed inside. Once it dies, no way to replace unless you want to start undoing stitches.
