A Must Have Item For Any Star Wars Fan! Jan 15, 2007
By J. Underwood We gave our six yr old son R2 for Christmas and it was the big hit of the day! When he unwrapped his gift and saw that it was R2 inside it was one of those priceless moments that you wish you caught on video...it even brought tears to his eyes. Now, I will say that R2 takes some getting used to. You have to say things just right and be pretty close to him when you speak to him or else he doesn't understand and will just go about doing his own thing. He definitely seems to have a mind of his own sometimes, but that is part of the fun, too. When our six yr old gets a bit older I think he will have more fun with R2. I think the recommendation for 8 and up is probably right on due to the fact that it is a bit challenging for kids to operate (can even be challenging for adults!) Even so, R2 is so cute and life like...any Star Wars fan would love it!

Awesome toy! Jan 15, 2007
By Philly Mom I was a little hesistant to purchase this toy for my 7yr old, as he's a little rough on his things and not very patient, but this one is great! The instructions are very easy to follow and the commands are simple. He loves it!

By J. Kazacos when i bought this for my 6 year oldgrandson i wasn't sure what to expect, but it's really cool. Both he and his older brother (not to mention dad) have spent hours playing with their robot! it really is amazing how it responds!

Surprisingly Durable! Kids are still playing with toy after 2 years!!, Jul 06, 2008
By A. Stagg We've had this toy for several years. My wife actually bought it for me, but my kids soon co-opted it from me. It's an enjoyable toy that has held up to the kids, though they really haven't been particularly rough with it. The voice commands don't work as reliably as I would like, but the toy is fun. My kids enjoy chattering at R2, though they haven't quite grasped the need to give a sequential series of commands. They especially like to watch R2 going into Dance Mode. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Great Fun Nov 30, 2007
By Jess Thomas With in a half hour we had our R2 running after my Grandson while he laughed the hole time. I found the commands to work very easy. As a Star Wars Fan I just fell in love with this and my Grandson of 3 talked to it like it was a friend. This was a great investment. The only problem was needing all of the batteries. Now we need to get recharge D cells and AA's.
