| | | Pre-Cyborg General Grievous is armed with a blaster rifle, and is outfitted with a full array of rustic gear including a removable tribal mask. Originating with the planet Kalee and the species Kaleesh, General Grievous (formerly Qymaen jai Sheelal) is a lithe, muscular figure with a leathery reddish-colored hide. Count Dooku was impressed by Grievous? battle savvy and strategic acumen, and for this reason Dooku tried to entice Grievous to lead the Separatist army. Grievous refused, but he later narrowly survived a horrendous shuttle crash. On the planet of Geonosis, Grievous? physical essence was transferred to a cybernetic body---much to Grievous? horror. Eventually Grievous was trained and conditioned into a Jedi-equivalent swordsman; he became the general of the Separatist army and the scourge of the Jedi order. | | | |

Most interesting Jan 01, 2008
By Denis del Callar
"Gray Jedi"
This is one of the more interesting releases in the 30th anniversary series of Star Wars. To be honest, the figure is bad - poor articulation, poor poseability and good-luck trying to get it to stand.
However, because it provides a good reference to the history of Grievous, it is something that would make a fine addition to any collection. At last here's the portable proof destroying that Star Wars critic myth that George Lucas was dumb enough to create a robot that coughs! Now you can scream "HE'S NOT A ROBOT!" and have the evidence to back it up.
great toy and collectible Apr 27, 2013
By Alex C. This action figure looks amazing. Very pleased with the details in the face. Purchased several so that I have one for a collection and the other to view. Thanks
Packaging griefous Feb 08, 2013
By Gregory T. Diehl I had been looking for this figure for a LONG time. I finally found it and jumped on getting it. When it arrived I was excited to see it...until I seen the top of the card. The card was bent! How frustrating! As a collector, you want a sealed item with a clean card. Very disappointing to see the card bent up for the price I paid for it.

The Kaleesh Behind the Mask Dec 10, 2012
By Autumn M. This action figure may not be worth your time if you care about details like articulation but this action figure is important because they may not make another pre-Grievous figure for a long time. As any Star Warrior will tell you, Grievous may look like a droid, walk like a droid and function like a droid but oh brother, he ain't a droid-he's a cyborg: half robot, half something else. Before he was a general of the Clone Wars, Grievous was a member of the Kaleesh species-reptilian humanoids that lived on the planet Kalee- and went by the name of Qymaen jai Sheelal. Like most other members of his species, he wore a mask made from the skull of a predator, which is removeable on this figure, though if you remove it the sight of his face may surprise you. The mask and in a small way his entire outfit, foreshadows the "armor" Grievous will "live" in the rest of his (broken) life.
