I thought these were a bit pricey but they are really fun with the Aquadoodle mat so I guess it is worth it. We love our Aquadoodle mats! I think I enjoy that toy as much as the kids! No mess and lots of fun.

 Aquadoodle Stampers: A Complete Letdown Jan 08, 2009

I had read several reviews from other parents on Amazon praising the Aquadoodle stampers. Given the positive consensus, I purchased the mat, pens and stampers for my nearly 3yr old adorable niece as a Christmas gift. The mat and pens are perfect! She loves them and so does mom, dad and older brother! The stampers on the other hand are a complete let down. This experience does not synch up in any way with the reviews I had read from other parents on Amazon. These do not even make the shapes they are supposed to. Instead, they create indistinguishable markings or almost no marking at all (even on hard surface). The stamper is made of rubber and rubber does not absorb water...it repels water. So, for a water-based toy that depends on the application of a small amount of water to the mat to mimic coloring, you can see why this does not work, given the near absence of water on the stamper. Since the stamper was unable to contain the necessary water requirement, it wouldn't create the nice shell, sailboat and starfish shapes that she wanted to see. This is a substantial design flaw. My advice is to save the money or invest in additional Aquadoodle pens...at least until the manufacturer resolves the design flaw on these stampers. To end this on a good note, children and parents both will be pleased with the Aquadoodle mat and pens - great, simple and effective idea.
