5Beautiful, educational, fun, durable and safe medieval toy soldiers  Jun 27, 2006 By EquesNiger
I purchased this little fellow in Prague after being given the Dragon for Christmas. It's a remarkably detailed piece, with an amazing level of historical accuracy in the armor and armaments of the 14th/15th century. It's made of highly durable plastic, and overall it's rugged enough to withstand the rigors of entertaining youngsters. I bought several other members of the Schleich Knights series for my two nephews, aged 4 and 6, so there is minimal concern that the detachable parts could be dangerous for young children. The pieces come in two opposing camps: the Red Fleur de Lis, and the Blue Lion, and each piece has a corresponding piece in the other, with somewhat different design and graphics. The Red Camp shows arms and armor of the 12-13th Centuries (typically), and the Blue the arms and armor of the 13-15th. The level of detail, for this price, is actually quite surprising. Also, it appears some political sensitivity went into the crafting, as the Red Fleur de Lis corresponds more closely to the English armor and weapons of the periods, while the Blue Lion more closely refelcts the French, despite the switched heraldic devices. Some care must be taken when unwinding the wiring which affixes the toy in the box, as it can scuff the paint on the hooves of the horse. Matched with the jousting set, as well as the rival faction jousting knight, it makes a wonderful display piece, and something my young nephews have played with for months.

5Great detail, durable, beautiful  Dec 03, 2007 By R. L. White "Mom2MMJ"
I ordered this and several other Schleich items having never seen them before. My nephew and niece gave me pictures of them with their Christmas wish list. My three sons all wanted some just from seeing the pictures. The pictures don't do them justice! They all arrived in great shape, nicely packaged but best of all they are very nice quality. We also got the dragon, several mailers and Feya the fairy on horseback. All are just great and worth the money. These will provide hours of imaginative play. I'm fairly certain we may have to buy that castle, too!

3Knight falls down  Aug 10, 2010 By Felicia H. Wilson
This is a wonderful piece; colorful, detailed, really visually striking, and with a cool jousting lance to boot. However, the knight falls over and can't stand alone once it's been removed from the packaging. This is a serious disadvantage for anyone who wants to display this delightful piece.

5Excellent Toy Knight  May 27, 2009 By G. BLAIR "GBlair"
These are excellent quality toy knights. They may cost a little more than other brands, but these are of a substantial scale and are well worth the money. My kids have endless fun re-enacting various battles and making up jousts, etc. Rainy days are never dull with an imagination and knights like these.

I recieved this toy last week, the detail is excellant and the toy looks very sturdy. I am very impressed with the workmanship and I am sure my Grandson will be really happy at Christmas when he recieves this toy along with the Dragon and the Lion Tournament knight I bought for him.
