Players travel around the globe by air, land and sea collecting Dragons and knowledge. Learn about the nine different species of dragons on your quest by using ancient spells and dragon charms to help in your pursuit. The object of the game is to master any three of the nine dragons and be the first to advance to the dragon's eye. This game is beautifully crafted and the pieces and board are intricately detailed. With the same authentic look and feel as the book, Dragonology: The Game includes a game board that is also an ancient map, nine exquisitely detailed 3D sculpted dragons, six well-acclaimed Dragonologist figures, knowledge cards, transportation tickets and a 12-sided die. Dragon figures are of the European, American Amphithere, Cockatrice, Frost Dragon, Gargouille, Asian Lung, Knucker, Wyvern and the Marsupial Dragon. This game takes approximately 60 minutes to play. This is a wonderful game for 2 to 6 players. | | | |

Great Game For All Ages! Jan 02, 2007

I bought this game as a Christmas gift for my mother who collects anything dragons, and also loves to play board games.
My nephew was visiting over the holiday season and also loves dragons so we decided to try it out. It was an instant hit!
The game rules are easy to understand, the cards are beautifully drawn, the game itself is fun, fun, fun for all ages (9 - 65 were playing!).
The game itself took about 1 1/2 hours w/4 people first time around and a good hour the 2nd time we played it.
The game takes "some" strategy and some "luck" (ie picking the right cards, rolling the right number).
This game is fun, the pieces are well done, the cards and board are great, and very informative information about dragons that I'm sure you didn't know (wink).
My only complaints, they could have made the dice a wee bit bigger and the people do tend to have a falling over problem, and the one dragon could use a base. Other than these small annoyances, they do not take away from the game play, I'm just picky!
If your looking for fun, family game, buy this, it's well worth the money!

Dragonology game Dec 04, 2006

This game is great fun. I just got it, and have already played it several times. It's fairly straightforward, although there are one or two vague spots in the rules. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes dragons, as well as all others who just like fun games.

Great game! Jan 15, 2007

We bought this game for our 10 year old who is a huge dragon fan. The first time my husband and son played it they were a bit confused at the start, but after it got going, they loved it. Our son loves it, and it is perfect for his age range. He loves the figures, and the set up and it keeps his attention from start to finish! We highly recommend this for any serious dragon fan!

Dragon Fun Feb 19, 2007
By Susan Horowitz

Bought this for my kids (7 and 10) for Chanukah. They are already big fans of the book of the same name. Nicely made, cool dragon and explorer playing pieces, lots of game cards in 2 separate decks. Many small pieces, easily lost of you're not careful. A word of warning, this is a bit like Monopoly in that the game can go on for quite a long time, so set it up somewhere where you'll be able to go back to it if you don't want to finish in one sitting.
An excellent purchase.

My 8 year old loves this game! Feb 09, 2007
By Linda M. Rupp My son recieved this game for Christmas, and we just opened it up on a recent snow day. He really enjoyed the game with the combination of defensive cards and manuvers. The game board and cards are beautifully illustrated. The only problem we have is that the dragon pieces do not stand properly, and one of them broke during the first game. I would love to see these figurines recreated in a die-cast form, similar to the lead D&D figurines my brother used to have years ago. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this game for anyone from even 7 years and up, especially if they love dragons.
