Fun Toy - Good Reproduction Oct 06, 2010
By designprof I had a "Robert the Robot" as a kid and enjoyed driving it around with the controller. This reproduction is a fairly accurate copy and has a lot of play value. The only change is that the robot voice is now electronic...the original toy had a record disk inside. It would have been wonderful to duplicate that aspect as well but only a purist would be disappointed with this toy. This reproduction would be a nice addition to your robot collection!
Great replica of the real thing Feb 09, 2010
By Angie I purchased Robert the Robot for my father this past Christmas. When he was a kid, he received the original Robert the Robot from Santa one year. Apparently he was so fascinated by the robot, he disassembled it in a matter of days trying to figure out how it worked. Unfortunately, he was not able to reassemble the robot. The pieces of the toy were subsequently thrown in the trash never to be seen again. Imagine his surprise when I presented him with the same toy for Christmas 50 years later. The look on his face was priceless and Robert the Robot provided hours of entertainment on Christmas morning. Great product and fast shipping!
