 Authentic Panasonic The Only Way to Go Nov 02, 2010

I ordered a replacement bulb for my PT-AE3000 from another site to save a few dollars. From the picture and description it looked authentic, but it was not. The none Panasonic bulbs are no good. They are not bright enough and don't appear to have proper color temperature. Don't waste your time and money on them. Amazon was one of the few places that had the authentic bulb that comes in a Panasonic box with the replacement filter. This bulb works great, just like the original.

New OEM bulb. It also came with a new filter. I was leary because the price was so good, but it IS a Panasonic bulb. Buy with confidence.

I purchased this bulb based on the description that it is an original Panasonic bulb manufactured by Panasonic. When I received my item, it was broken, in an obviously opened box, and it was not an original Panasonic bulb. I returned it and Crawford was efficient about accepting the return and providing me with a refund (they also paid for the return shipping). The return experience was as easy as possible, but the bulb was not as advertised.

Ordered same item in Amazon that I bought a year ago. This time it was NOT Panasonic OEM and came in messed up inner box and lamp was broken.

Works great so far May 28, 2010

I have a Panasonic PT-AE2000U projector. (This bulb works for both the PT-AE1000U and the PT-AE2000U.) After about 1300 hours, my original bulb developed a 'flicker' problem. I have read that this effect commonly occurs with the Panasonic bulbs as they age, and the only thing that bothered me about it was that I expected the bulb to last more like 1500 hours. (I run my projector in 'power save' mode in a completely dark theater and with low brightness/contrast settings, so I should have gotten near the rated 2000 hour bulb life for the stock bulb. I have also read that sometimes the flicker can be fixed by running the projector for a while at full brightness and regular mode, but for me that didn't work.)
This bulb was easy to install following the included instructions and so far, after about 100 hours, has been working great.
