So much fun! Sep 09, 2000
By Renee Hierholzer As a self-confessed VH1 addict, it was logical that I received this game from a friend for Christmas last year. This game is FUN! I have recently had the opportunity to play it with both large and small groups of people, and the game is versatile enough to be fun for any size party. The questions are based around different music videos from the 80s and 90s, but because the game is based on the Pop Up Video show, there are also other trivia questions on the cards which relate to the other trivia shown during the pop ups. There are opportunities to highlight your singing skills, (or lack thereof) and overall it's a great trip into nostalgia. I highly recommend this game!

Not the video questions I expected Mar 05, 2002

I bought this game thinking it would be a fun game for me and some friends. And although we still did have a good time playing it, there was one factor that was not quite what I expected. I was surprised by the number of cards on numerous videos by artists such as Lionel Richie, Paula Abdul, Phil Collins, Elton John, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc. And the extreme lack of cards on all the classic videos I remember watching (such as alot of the 80's new wave type bands, or ANY bands that would fall into the hard rock area). There were SOME cards on those type of videos, but we found ourselves saying things like 'Not Paula Abdul again! I don't even remember that song!'. I should have remembered this is VH1, NOT early MTV, and almost all the video cards questions were from videos that would show up on Adult easy listening. So this is not really, the games fault. But I wanted to add this to the review to help someone else from making the same mistake. If the type of artists that I listed appeal to you, then buy the game! You should have a blast! But if these aren't the type of artists you think of, when you think of videos, then you may want to reconsider.

Fun party game . . . once Aug 20, 2000
By tropic_of_criticism At certain small parties, this game has been a much bigger hit than TRIVIAL PURSUIT or WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? The questions are obscure enough to be hard, but fun enough to still feel like a game. Sometimes other trivia games make some partygoers cringe with their lack of knowledge, but this one just makes you laugh. It's fun remembering videos and trying to sift through your mental attic for stuff you KNOW you read in PEOPLE magazine somewhere. It's a great buy, but I would agree with another reviewer who said that it needed more questions. [My durability rating, above, means that, because there aren't enough questions, the initial fun doesn't hold up on replaying, not that there's anything fundamentally defective with the construction of the game pieces themselves.]

Fun for the first five minutes. Jan 19, 2000 This game is a great idea, the unfortunate problem is that there are not enough questions. We played this game the night we bought it, and after two full games with four people playing we had used every single card. VH1 just needs to make more questions, then perhaps I could be kinder.
