5Timeless  Feb 12, 2010 By L. L. M. Sanchez
Sometimes simple is the best way to go. This is proof of that.

My son (14 months) has a set of these at home and at Nana and Papa's house. He LOVES them. He's loved them for months and he loves them still. He likes taking them apart, putting them together, placing them inside one another...It's simple, but it works.

I'll also put small objects in them and shake them and ask him what he thinks is inside them. I did this with my more rambunctious nephew (2 years old) and even he was thrilled to discover what silly little thing was in there. There are a million ways to make this toy educational and interesting!

I love big flashy toys as much as the next person, but these simple things are so important too. Plus, it's nice to have a set of "quiet time" toys. Hearing the same cheerful jingle played five hundred times in a row can be a little unnerving.

4Good development toy  Aug 20, 2007 By Deborah Ferguson
My son is 13 months old and plays with these toys occasionally. He likes playing with them in the tub also. He will put his toy balls and blocks in the barrels and is still figuring out how to stack them. He knows how to nest the barrel halves into one another. He also likes to hide these under the couch and behind chairs. Whenever I watch him try to stack them on top of each other I can just see that he is learning. We have another set like this but they are squares and he likes them also.

5Nesting barrels  May 24, 2011 By Patricia Reifen
I bought this toy, which is a classic, for my granddaughter. It is suitable for children between the ages of 1-2 years but her older brother of five likes playing with it in the bath! However, you should know that this Playskool nesting set has only four barrels, something I was disappointed with as there are usually six nesting cups in a set.

5Great little barrel set  Dec 31, 2010 By minimemama
These barrels have worked great for our 22-month old son. (we bought them when he was about 19 months old). We like to hide candy or items in the smallest barrel and he shakes it and knows something is inside so he gets excited to take them all apart. He hasn't quite learned how to put them back together yet but I'm sure he will over time. Great product.

5Simple Fun  Jan 10, 2010 By Kahlora
My 6 month old seems to enjoy these far more than his expensive and noisy electronic gadgets. The barrels have been banged, chewed, and thrown around for the last 2 weeks and they still look great. I like that they provide quiet playtime (usually...) early in the morning or late at night when other family members are sleeping.
