This is a great gift for toddlers. My little guy loves to put things together, so this is perfect for him. Plus with all the parts to choose from a toddler can feel like they are in charge of something, which is important in their little world! Be prepared, it comes in a huge box! Overall a great buy for the money!

This is quite an impressive collection of Potato Heads and pieces with two full size bodies with all the trimmings and three sets of themed Parts `N Pieces. Just about everything in the box is visible through the big, clear cellophane window on the box front.
Inside: Over forty parts for "Mix `n Match fun
1 full size Mr. Potato Head with hat, teeth, glasses, shoes, potato body, eyes, moustache, nose, tongue, ears, arms
1 full size Mrs. Potato Head with handbag, visor, shoes, potato body, glasses, lips, eyes, nose, tongue, earrings, ears, arms
Pirate Spud pieces: parrot, shoes, hat, earring, eyepatch, hook
Birthday Spud pieces: hat, mouth, party whistle, two wiggly blue arms, anniversary birthday cake
Safari Spud pieces: hat, monkey ears, elephant ears, pig nose, elephant nose, monkey mouth, beak
Bonus - one bright yellow mesh bag to tote all your pieces. If you don't mind making a mesh, you might be able to create your own bag. The included mesh bag is about a foot wide and a foot high with a flat bottom and a draw string. It should hold a lot of parts, and if your youngster likes to draw, he or she can use the black draw string.
Thoughts -
I think that the Potato Head Value set is a value and a sensible gift for the young Potato Head aficionado. The best feature of a Potato Head toy is the possibility of expending creative energy while imagining and making lots and lots of Potato Head configurations. Many, maybe even most, of today's Potato Head offerings come with limited pieces, and thus limiting creative play. With this set and its diverse piece collection, the sky is the limit. Even my high school students would have a ball putting elephant ears on Mr. Potato Head or a pirate hat on Mrs. Potato Head. Kids (and teachers) are always sabotaging my potato people at work by switching body parts to absurdity or poking pencils, pens, and paper clips through the Potato Head body cavities.
For a collector of Potato Heads this set might pose a problem because of its size. The square box is 17.5 inches by some other number.
I think there should be individual bags or containers for the three themed sets that could very easily get mixed up or lost. Three sets of loose pieces is asking for trouble.
Verdict - Yes, I recommend this Potato Head collection of parts and pieces. The large set offers lots of creative and manipulative possibilities even for the digitally programmed youngster.
AND Want to drive a four-year-old crazy? Just hand him the box and challenge him to extricate the Potato Heads inside. On second thought, that might be a little cruel. It takes some strong hands and a good pair of scissors to rescue these spuds.

Purchased this set quite awhile ago when Amazon had it at a fantastic price. I really like the fact that it has both Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head and three additional play sets for them all in one box. It made a really nice gift for my niece. Great classic toy that keeps spanning the generations especially since they're featured in the Toy Story movies. My only regret is that I wish I had bought more than one!
