5At first I thought it was going to suck  Sep 03, 2005 By Jacob Jones
When I got this for my son after repeatedly being bugged for it I got it with the thought another toy that will sit around the house with the rest of them. I WAS WRONG!!! It looks stupid but once you put it together and start to play it really is alot of fun. Even I been having fun the last few days with my kids playing with it (Im 33)!

Dont let the lame look of this toy worry you. You actually have to think while playing this game. I call it a game because it really is with rc cars. Its not alot about driving an rc car in circles but doing that and thinking on how to take the other guy out. The controlls couldnt be simpler. Says 8 and older but my 4 year old can do it and loves watching the cars fly out of the dome. It has 2 buttons on the controller. One is for it to go and the other is a turbo button. You dont steer with the controller but move a fixed wheel on the front of the cars. Use a small phillips driver to adjust your wheel to your style of killing. If turn it in it goes faster but goes more towards the center of the track. Make it to straight and when you hit turbo you fly out. Get it just right and when turbo is applied you run the rim of the dome. This setting works best because the object is to push the other person out of the dome. You do this by getting under them and hitting the turbo button pushing them out.

Its not as easy as it seems because you need to out wit the person your playing against and at times your fighting for 5-8 minutes before you can do it with alot of close calls.

I have alot of rc toys myself and so do my childreen but none are as much fun as this. OH and these things move FAST!!!! You really need good eye cordination because if you stare at the center of the dome they are nothing more then blue and white streaks and can play with your mind. And no worries, yes they are fast but not fast enough to go a few feet smacking you in the face. When they fly out they co a few inches. I was worried about these thing flying out hitting my kids in the face (looking at the pic it looks like it may) but it doesnt. And the track and cars are alot smaller then the pic makes it look. Dome is maybe 2 feet and the cars a 3-4 inches and 4 inches off the ground. Easily fits in my sons closet and the cars in a shoe box.

One word though that the remotes kinda suck. The are like your tv remotes using infared and not radio. So you need to make sure the remotes are pointed towards the cars or they wont move. Other then that I dont have much bad to say at all. Needs 8 aaa bateries to run both sets and takes about 5 minutes to put together. Another 15 to apply the stickers to the cars and then be prepaired for hours of non stop fun! Over all I am very glad broke down and got it. :D Going to go play now and most likly as you read this were still playing.

5Tedious Stickers But GREAT FUN!!!!!  Dec 29, 2005 By H. Lewis
I bought this toy for my son who is seven for Christmas and the Bottom Line is: THIS TOY IS GREAT FUN and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! A couple of things to point out, however, so you go in with full knowledge of what you are in for:

(1) It took me almost 90 minutes for me to put all the appropriate stickers on the cars as there are 30 or so pairs (so 60 total) of stickers and some are teeny tiny requiring meticulous care to properly apply. My 42 years young set of eyes hurt by the time I was done. Okay, okay, so maybe they didn't exactly hurt but you know what I mean. And you do want to put the stickers on because the cars do look quite cool with them.

(2) The one page direction sheet provided only gave guidance on applying stickers for one of the two cars and both cars are shaped differently. As a result, I had to simply figure it out on my own as to where to appropriately place the stickers on the second car. Luckily, a portion of a picture of the car was on the box which helped a little. Still, it was quite tedious, which can be an issue if you have an antsy seven year old itching to get going with the fun.

(3) Initially, all was good and both of the cars worked fine after stickers were applied, the dome was put together, and everything was nicely populated with AAA batteries. Then, suddenly, one of the cars simply stopped working. I tried changing batteries (the directions are quite adamant about having fresh batteries in use) six ways to Sunday (sorry, technical phrase) to no avail. Finally, out of frustration, I tried rolling the rear drive tire forward by hand and, amazingly, it started to respond. So I guess it was literally stuck which was kind of unusual since it worked fine initially for around 30 seconds. My point, I suppose, is simply to be aware of this as a possibility. I mean I was all set to call it a day and ship this puppy back to the manufacturer so needless to say I'm glad I tried it. Hopefully, you won't reach this point but if you do, give the tire a roll by hand---gently!

(4) I did not have any issues putting the dome together or getting it to stay married (if you will) once I interlocked the pieces. Be sure to take your time in doing this, however, as it does also require some patience. I think you will find that it will stay together if do take your time as we have not had even the slightest problem with the dome.

(5) You will likely find it advisable to take a break now and again from playing as the dome circumference is not wide making the cars go around and around in circles very quickly which seems like it could affect your vision (or at least make paranoid folks like me worry about it in regards to a seven year old). Going forward, I think the manufacturer could put out a dome double the circumference without any issues and it would likely work better for four players as well, I suspect.

5Family Fun  Dec 27, 2005 By Rusty Wallace
This is a great race track game that is fun for the whole family. I would suggest getting 1 or 2 extra cars so that the whole family can play. It's a great way to spend fun time with the kids.

I got this toy for my son for his xmas, it wasn't something he asked for but I saw it and couldn't resist it as it seemed such a great bargain! It was the last gift he opened on xmas day and he's played with this more than any of his other xmas presents! Definitely worth the money!!!!
