Pricey, but one of the better MLP playsets so far. Dec 02, 2006
By ephany77 My daughter received this for her birthday and so far I'm fairly impressed with this My Little Pony playset. It's actually rather compact when folded up, but easily doubles its size when expanded. When expanded it takes up almost the entire length of her play table, so it's not a small toy. It also doubles in height for mulitple levels of play.
She enjoys making the castle 'magically grow', although it's not the quietest mechanism when the castle is actually expanding. You can use either the magic wand or press a button on the front of the castle to star the growing process. That's a nice idea on Hasbro's part, just in case the wand gets misplaced.
It's already gotten more playtime than her Butterfly Island playset or the Rollercoaster playset. It is also the most expensive playset, and I think Hasbro should have included at least 1 standard pony for the price. There's also a few accessories included, but the major furniture has to be bought separately. This includes the dining room table and bedroom set, which she noticed immediately weren't part of the castle.
All in all we're happy with this gift, especially as hers did include 3 bonus ponies as a holdiay promotion. It was also on sale for under $50, so for that price we're satisfied.

Idiotic Accessories Jan 26, 2007

Let me just get this off my chest. Ponies have hooves. They cannot even try to hold sundae dishes. So let's take the pointless accessories out of my review and carry on. I like this castle. Needs no assembly. We love the way the magic wand opens it up. The magnetic stage is a neat idea and my four year old can operate it easily. But just one more moan. Would it have killed them to include one pony? Like one of those pictured on the box? Thank goodness I pre-empted a situation of high drama and searched out the exact pony to purchase separately. Years of dealing with this sort of issue heightens a mum's awareness of inevitable disappointment. How dare you expect to get a pony! Here - have two spoons and a punchbowl instead!

My daughter loves this! May 14, 2007

I got this for my daughter's 4th birthday. It's nice to get a big, fun toy with a relatively lower price tag. She loves the way she can make it "grow" with the magic wand and the noise it makes while "growing." It has enough space to play with lots of ponies at one time. If you add a Ponyville furniture set or two your little one may sit there for quite a while pretending to be in her own Ponyville world - mine does!

Castle of awsomeness! Jan 13, 2007
By K. Johnson Santa bought this (along with one other large gift) as a joint gift for my two oldest daughters ages 6 and 3. They both LOVE it.. I got it when it was on sale for $40 and it came with 3 bonus ponies (so I scored!)
They can stay up in their room and play with this for hours, and since they have so many ponies (i believe we are at nearly 40 ponies!) this is a wonderful addition to the two other little pony sets they have. Needless to say, it was happily accepted... and the wand is awsome.. we all tend to play with the wand just to hear the noise. Which is cool, I even get a great deal of enjoyment playing with it with the girls.. ^_^;

It does what it says it does Jan 10, 2007

"Santa" brought this to my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. It's extremely easy to put together - all you do is take it out of the box. My daughter can easily get the floors to open or close. As well as opening each side. The only downside to this is there are not many accessories for the castle. But she doesn't seem to mind. I've always been impressed by My Little Pony's products and I was with this one as well. Would definitely recommend it.
