5Luke - Use the Forks !!!  May 19, 2005 By R. M. Ettinger "rme1963"
I'd say I'm embarrassed to tell you how many stores I went to looking for this and how many trips it took me to said stores. But I'm not.

Somewhere somone was saying "This is not the toy you want" .... but I ignored that Obi-Wan-ism and prevailed. Unfortunately I've been on the 'wait list' here @ amazon for months....and no luck (not their fault - Hasbro isn't saturating the market I guess). I refused to pay $20 and up on ebay for a less than $7 toy.

But it's not a toy. It proudly sits on my desk at work for all to admire, "oooh and aaah" over and laugh about. And they do.

I could care less about educational value or durability. It sits on my desk!!!!

(and yes, I bought two!...one to keep in the original packaging.)

4The Cute Side of the Force  Jan 28, 2005 By Mo Brien "Banshee"
In general, I don't support contaminating Mr. Potato Head with mindless marketing madness. But for this, I will make an exception. Darth Tater is just too darned cute. In fact, he's so cute I suspect that he's more a parent's toy than a kid's. I'm also a bit disturbed that Darth only has one outfit. A Potato Head must have at least a couple of alternate face pieces, hats, and equipment to have real play value. But dang, it's cute.

4Fun for kids, Hilarious for adults!  Nov 13, 2005 By Mom2Will&James
My friends are Star Wars geeks and their little ones follow along. Their 3 year old even hums Darth Vader's theme song. I bought this for his birthday recently. I guess I must be easily amused because just the names got me giggling - Darth Tater and Spud Trooper. I bought Darth at Target and Spud at Giant grocery stores. Darth has a light sabre and Spud has a potato masher. The quality is okay. No different than past Potato Heads. This little boy got a lot of typical boy toys - Buzz LightYear, race car sets, die-cast cars and planes, etc. I figured if nothing else, his parents would get a kick out of them. Well, he played with these taters for hours. Even his 4 year brother along with my 4 year old boy got into it. This toy worked out surprisingly well for us! Highly recommend!

4A big hit.  Nov 26, 2005 By Tater Tot's Mama
We call our 2 year old grand daughter Tater Tot so this was purchased as a gift for her grandfather. He soon discovered he would not keep it. Tater Tot enjoyed this immensely!! She plays with it for hours and has made it the grandpop of her Tater family.
As a toy it does what a Potato Head should. As a collectible, this is a must for those that fondly remember having one as a child.
I hope this helps.

5Darth Tater- A hit!  Apr 15, 2005 By Fooch
My fiancee and I went to 2 Toys R Us stores to get 5 of the Taters to distribute among family (all recipients were 25 and older)! It was definitley worth the trip! The idea adds a nice twist to a classic toy and movie. The best part is the lightsaber and mask. I can almost hear him say "Luke I am your Tater." Definitley a must have!
