5Same Game, Modern Execution  Sep 05, 2008 By KlownArt
Many people have played the original Monopoly and loved it. I know I have. This version was made for the new millennium. The game is essentially the same as the original game. The only difference is that this version has been updated with a modern look and property names. In my opinion, if you are seeking a round of Monopoly I recommend purchasing this board before the original game.

The look of the board is very nice. All of the property has changed. Instead of railroads there are monorails. The normal property has been changed as well. There are now Ski Chapels, Beaches, and many other modern property types. The game tokens have been altered too. The old car is now a wicked sports car. All the other tokens have an updated look.

If you don't know how to play Monopoly, it is a very easy game. You move around the square board buying property. Anyone who lands on your property will owe you money. The winner is the one who does not go bankrupt. Along the way there are chance cards, community chest cards, jail time, free parking, and taxes you will have to deal with. Buying houses or hotels for your property will increase its value. The game can last anywhere from 20 minutes to a hour depending on the roll of the dice an d your ability to buy property.

This is the same Monopoly with a modernized look. I recommend buying this game before buying the original game. The new property names will keep a new player attached to the experience more. This game is appropriate for children and adults. This can be an educational experience for either side. The new board folds into four pieces, making it less likely to break down the middle like most Monopoly boards. This is a perfect buy for any fan of the game or new guy looking to monopolize.

Great game. Remember wanting it Christmas of 1999 and finally have it. Great game for the family on game night.
