Good Value Jun 14, 2007

With a original price tag of only $9.99, this product is a bargain among contructional toys. I bought it for my two-year-old, she enjoys play it with me as I build a house for her. Basically, it is like a chunky version of Lego, with much fewer variation in parts. The smallest parts are large enough so that I don't need to worry that my kid will swallow it. I think it works great as a pre-lego constructional toy.
90 Pieces of Frustration Dec 29, 2010
By Leeann Key My husband is addicted to Legos, so I expected my son would follow in his footsteps. When he started playing with Mega Bloks at the pediatrician's office I came home and put them on the wish list. He got them for Christmas, and instantly dumped them out so he could start building.
My son is two, but has a fair amount of patience when it comes to building toys. With Mega Bloks, all I heard for the first three days was, "Fix! Fix! Fix!", as he came into the room with various blocks. When I sat down with him to build tunnels for his railroad, I found out why.
Some of the bloks fit really well. Most kinda sit on top of each other without locking, and therefore, also come apart very easily. A few don't go together at all no matter how hard you push and reposition them. After 20 minutes I was ready to go to my husband saying, "Fix! Fix! Fix!" I guess my clue should've been that the lid on the container doesn't lock on, it just sits on top in a kind of useless way.
We've decided to get some Duplo blocks and donate these to the pediatrician...

I love the mini mega blocks for my daughter. The regular size ones were great when she was one and two, but she needed something smaller now that she is three. Legos were too small. These are just right and she builds with them every single day. I had bought some from a garage sale as well and they were pink and purple. I wish I could of found more of those, but the basic colors worked just great too.
