Good starter for little ones! Nov 18, 2007

I purchased this camera today. It gives a decent picture, the key is to wait for the image to stabilize before pushing the button to capture the picture. The screws are hard to get back in once you take them out to replace the batteries. To focus on an object you need to look at the image on the viewer, not the dual viewfinders (the 2 clear squares at the top of the camera). Also when you snap the picture you have to wait for a little camera to appear and it will also show a number ex: 001 then the next pic is 002 and so on..I don't like that you are unable to hear a sound to let me know a pic was taken. This camera does have a flash, which helps lighten a darker background. For the price it's ok, for the little kids it could be exciting. This is a xmas gift for my daughter (3 years old) and I think she will like it. Oh and by the way when you download the pics to your computer, the pics really look distorted, but when I click on "get photos" the pics look good and clear.

Disappointing Jan 01, 2008
By Mom of two I bought this camera for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. What a disappointment! The battery compartment is terrible to deal with. I had to really work to get it closed after inserting the batteries. Taking pictures with the camera is easy enough for my daughter but the quality of the pictures is awful. They are blurry and distorted, and it is not because of my daughter's inexperience with photography. I took pictures with it and they turned out the same. I would have been better off buying an inexpensive "grown-up" digital camera for my daughter. I do not recommend buying this camera.

Don't Waste Your Money... Feb 10, 2008

I bought this camera for my 4 year old as a Christmas present. Her older sister has a real digital camera, and we thought this would be great for her because little tykes products are usually quite durable. Kohl's had a great sale, and I ended up purchasing this item for under $[...]-a real bargain. Unfortunately, although we had no problems with it's durability or mechanics, the picture quality was horribly dissappointing. My 4 year old couldn't even see images clearly on the small LCD screen. When she attempted to take pictures, they came out blurry, EXTREMELY GRAINY, and overexposed. My husband and I then attempted to take pictures with the camera, and we had the same problems...in fact, every adult visiting with us during the holidays tried the camera and it produced the same results: BLURRY, GRAINY, OVEREXPOSED, UNUSABLE PICTURES. Do not waste your money-you'd be better off buying an inexpensive, real digital camera and monitoring your child while they use it.

Bad Camera Dec 27, 2008
By Mommy of Twinkettes I purchased this camera for my almost-four-year-old who constantly grabs our expensive digital camera and pushes all of the buttons...sometimes deleting pictures by mistake. She's ready for one of her own that mimics a real digital camera. This one is definitely sturdy, but the LCD screen in the back cannot be used as the viewfinder, like most digital cameras. The image is constantly moving in the LCD screen. You must look through both square eye-holes (sorry for not having a better term) to find your shot, then click the front (not top) button. First, we couldn't get anything we saw through the viewfinder to appear in the final shot, no matter how long we waited for the image to stop moving on the LCD screen. Also, the actual shots were extremely blurry and had virtually no clarity (unlike the sample picture of the puppy I had to peel off of the LCD screen before first use). Before we gave up after 40 shots, we did not have one single image that was clear. It was difficult for her to push the front button and to figure out how to set the flash to auto if she happened to click the wrong button and turn it off by mistake.
There was a serial cable provided to transfer the pictures to a computer, which would've made them larger, but still blurred or non-existent. But what's the point if as a child you can't have the immediate gratification of seeing the pictures on the camera as you take them? That's what she enjoys so much about pushing the buttons our camera.
I was very disappointed - especially for the price - and will be returning the product today. I bought a 35mm that also uses batteries at a discount store for $0.99 (yes, less than a dollar!) and she'll be using that one for now to point and shoot pictures. Even without film, that one will at least be fun to pretend with!

great camera for kids! Aug 13, 2008

My daughter got this camera for her 2nd birthday and loves it! She was always trying to use mommy and daddy's digital camera which obviously isn't a great idea for a 2 yr old! When she got this she was so excited! She now can take her own pictures whenever and wherever she wants, of anything she wants! What's great is that she can see the pictures she is taking! Her hands were a tiny bit small at first, but we just had to teach her a better way to hold it to get her cute little fingers out of the pictures. She has obviously as any 2 yr old would do, thrown it, dropped it, etc- and it still works! VERY DURABLE, GREAT VALUE!
