Amazing Fun! Worth every penny! Dec 28, 2007
By P. Baiano After buying the total junk "Rose Art Hover Paint & Spin" (which I returned 5 minutes out of the box), I broke down for twice the cost and got this toy. *It is worth every extra penny*
It's AMAZING! You can get started painting (and dancing!) in less than 30 seconds right out of the box. No complicated instructions, no flimsy parts...it even comes loaded with 4 C batteries! From there, it's nothing but "Ooooo's" and "Ahhhh's".
I can't tear my daughter (OR my husband and I) away from it!! It has mesmerizing variations of neon light shows and a number of different (non-annoying) music modes.
I swear, I can say enough positive things about this toy. You have to buy one for yourself to appreciate my enthusiasm.

Great toy - not sure about the price disparity though.. Jan 12, 2010

First off, I want to say that I don't understand why people give negative reviews just because they saw the same item somewhere else for a cheaper price. I thought the reviews are for the product, not the price. Everyone who reviewed the actual product gave this 5 stars.
Luckily, I got this toy at the clearance section at my local Kmart for $3. It was lonely sitting in the clearance section for months, and no one wanted to buy it because the demo didn't work due to dead batteries. So, I figure, what the heck, for that price I'll try it. I was lucky:) This product literally rocked for my two boys ages 2 and 4 (yes, a bit young for this toy, but I did it with them). They loved watching the paint doing the eye catching psychedelic stuff as we squirted it onto the player (we also turned off the lights to have a better visual affect).
The only cons I see with this toy are: I don't understand why the blank sheets they provide for painting are rectangular, while the player disc is round. This means that paint is splashed on the 'non-covered' areas. They do provide two round sheets, but those already have nice patterns on it. Also, they provide very little starter paint in the box, and the paint seems to take a long time to dry. Luckily, in the future I think I can use any type of washable paint and I plan to buy my own thick black paper and cut it myself fitted round. Therefore, the after expense if continuing to use this toy isn't too much.
As far as durability, I cannot rate it because we just started using it yesterday. Seems durable so far though, w/ my 2 year old even putting his sippy cup, matchbox cars, etc on the player. As far as price, I cannot really say much, except, do shop around for the cheapest price. I am a very frugal shopper, and get most of my stuff at half price or more anyway.

Can't get my 6 year old away from this! Oct 12, 2007
By Julie My 6 year old son got this for Christmas 2006. He loves it and could just sit and listen to the music and strobe light forever. Right now I'm trying to find some re-fill paint and paper.

Fun for the kids, not for the parents Aug 05, 2011
By faye I got this as a gift. My overall opinion is that it is terrific fun for the kids, while it lasts.
1. Music is great, but WAY too loud, and I can't find a way to make it quieter. 2. Lights are teensy little flashes that you can't really see. Nice idea though, if it worked. 3. Can't clean the dang thing. It says "wipe down." Well, manufacturer, I would be happy to, if I could get underneath the non-removable rotating disc where all the paint collects. 4. The paint. First, it runs out after one round of play and you need to buy expensive refills. Second, it stains! Poster paint this is not. In fact it stained my linoleum on contact, and I'm a renter, so I didn't appreciate that.
{{***#4 edited - it didn't stain: please see comments. }}
So, three stars. Five for lots of fun and my kids LOVE it. One star for how badly some parts of it were designed and for how much a beast it is for cleanup. I don't anticipate this one lasting long if you actually play with it. Makes a good loud music box though.
Did not work!!! Jan 26, 2013
By Pen Name I bought this as a Christmas gift and when we went to use it, it moved at the pace of a snail! I had one of these years ago and know that this is not how it is supposed to work. We tried changing the batteries and it still remained extremely snail like. This was an extremely disappointing purchase.
