Just the best game in the house! Aug 25, 2004
By Michelle Rahn I can't say enough good things about this game. My 4 yr old son has gone from "uninterested" in learning letters and sounds to constantly sounding out words in a span of a few weeks of playing this game. He looks forward to playing it every evening.
It has a microphone which is integral to the cartridge. The book asks you to say your name and then incorporates that into the dialog. The child practices saying sounds in a playful environment, so they don't know they are learning phonics! He is sounding out words and spelling them! (Egg starts with an E mom!)

A Homeschooler's Best Friend! Aug 27, 2005
By L. L. Poulos
"Muslim Mom"
I homeschool 3 children of varying ages and grades. During down time, my kids get to each play with their own Leap Pads. My five year old uses this book more than any other. He goes around the house growling and spewing out dinosaur facts. He identifies different dinosaurs and points out where they lived on a map. Well worth it. My only problem is that the cards could be sturdier, but still worth buying.
