Cool Special Powers Mar 08, 2005
By S. Donohue
"Geekier than I want to be."
Both the Snipers and the Vipers add cool special powers and new tactics to the game. The Vipers are fast (move 7, don't stop for water) but have a defense of 0. Their other power, the "Frenzy" is even better than the Vikings - they can move, attack, and roll for another turn. Nothings better than some frenzied vipers dicing up your friends Mimring in one turn.
The Snipers are also fun with a neat ability. When they attack, every successful hit counts double. They only have 1 attack die though, so it's good to get them on high ground (+1 die) and then start shooting. They're also helped a lot if you can get them near some of the Heroes of Bleakwood who can add another die.

Not as crappy as you'd think. ;) Jun 10, 2005
By Stephen Mackey This booster doesn't have as good a rating overall as the others, but this isn't because the figures contained are bad. They just require more finesse and thought to use.
The snakes are incredibly dominating the more of them you use, since the moer you have, the more chances for extra turns you get. They can't really survive attacks well, but they can do a lot more damage than their worth in points before expiring if you play them right.
The robot snipers are only a minor threat without any buffs, but get them an attack dice bonus and suddenly their damage goes through the roof. Stick them on high terrain, have Taelord hover nearby, or have Finn give them a hug, and they'll blow away anything in their sights.
Even more than the other boosters, this one benefits from having heroes from the Bleakwood booster. Taelord's a perfect fit for the robots, and the Venoc Warlord makes the snakes scarily fast.
Overall a very solid booster, if one a little less intuitive in using than most.

Vipers are the most powerful Oct 03, 2005
By William Creech I think this booster set is the most powerful of all of the wave one boosters. I personally have enough to field a 400pt army of just vipers and the viper warlord. If you put all of your markers on these guys they are unstoppable. I have seen them desimate an army in one round, especially if they get their Frenzy a few times. These guys are only powerful if you field a bunch of them, one set is not enough. The snipers are great if you get them up high, they can take out heros in a few turns, easily, as they get a double strength attack.
Anyone who doesn't like this pack, just plain doesn't know how to use them. Either of these squads fielded in large numbers, will beat anything out there.

Fun and enjoyable. May 04, 2010
By Chad House Bought a bunch of different packages of Heroscape. My 11 year old son enjoyed playing it. Alot to this game, lot of math and reading. Didn't take him long to catch on. Had a ball even losing to him. Great game.

Snipers and Vipers info Apr 27, 2005
By Michelle A. Weiss Overall they suck, the snipers have good range but everything else sucks. The vipers are ok because they have a sweet movement stat, but everything else sucked about them too.
