Too small for adult hands Apr 19, 2005
By John A. Miller

I have a 1 year old daughter who loves it when I make puppets talk to her. I have really had a hard time finding puppet in the local stores, so I decided to turn to the internet. I used to have some Sesame Street puppets when I was a kid and thought that they were great. So I figured this would be a perfect puppet to use with my daughter.
Here's the thing. The opening into the head of this puppet is too small to get a grown ups hand into and still be able to operate the puppet with any ease. This puppet is easier to operate than the Ernie puppet, (which I also bought) but still pretty difficult.
The overall look of the puppet is good, but it isn't very user friendly. Needless to say, I am pretty disappointed in this product and wish that I wouldn't have bought it.
If you are looking for a puppet to entertain your infant, try checking out Toys R Us. From time to time, I have been able to find some animal puppets that make noise when you use them. My daughter just loves those.

We got these puppets and the kids loved them! Apr 23, 2005
By Dorothy Halpern We got 4 of the sesame street puppets for Christmas and grandkids just loved them. They are so soft and well made and the mouths can move so the kids had them talking up a storm. My son also teases and tickles the kids with them which gets my grandson going. My grandson won't part with his Elmo puppet (his favorite). I'd buy them again

Too small for parents Apr 19, 2005

Lots of fun May 25, 2010

My daughter loves it. I don't think it is designed for kids to operate, but kids can still have fun with it even if they can't operate it. I agree that upon arrival the mouth is somewhat too stiff to operate even for adults. But the easy solution is to take the mouth and force it open wide to 'stretch' it open. After you've stretched it open for a bit, you can put your hand in and operate it much easier. My daughter and I have a blast with it. Very well made and high quality.

Elmo for first birthday May 08, 2007
By Wineaux7100 I ordered Elmo and Cookie Monster for my grandson's first birthday. Definitely a low tech toy as you talk for it and operate it - allows for some creativity. The only problem is making the mouth move and operating the hands at the same time with one hand. William absolutely loved them - they are much larger than I expected and very soft and cuddly. He loves Sesame Street and wanted to give them many hugs and kisses. I uploaded a picture so you can see how big and cuddly Elmo is.
