I have to admit, while I did want to get the Gizmo Head Knocker as soon as I found out about it, it just looked boring in pictures. From what you see here, doesn't it look identical to NECA's smaller figure? I figured that this guy wouldn't be a favorite in my collection, and he'd probably be smaller to be more in-scale with Stripe, but as soon as I opened the shipping box and saw this sucker, I said "oh my god!" out loud. Gizmo is huge. He dwarfs several of my other Head Knockers, and is nearly the same size as Stripe, who's one of my bigger ones. The overall design is still bland, but this is still a very cool piece to have if you didn't bother with the figure.

Gizmo stands at around 7-8 inches tall, and is sculpted well. The fur on his body and head looks great, and they got the finer details in his ears perfectly too. He's kind of smiling, with that little open mouth expression on his face, and the base looks like Christmas wrapping paper and a ribbon. The body is hollow, and most of the weight is in the head, so be careful when handling this guy because these ones tend to shatter when dropped from even the lowest height. NECA did a good job here, and even if it does look just like the figure, he's still cute, and I can't help but smile when I see those big Mogwai eyes. The bobble feature is very good too, and Gizmo nods all over the place without clanking against the body.

As usual, the only negative about a Head Knocker by NECA is the paint. It's not -as- bad as some others I have, but the eyes were messy, as were the feet. But there's not a whole lot of fine details that needed to be different colors, so they didn't have a lot to screw up on. 'surprised they got the tiny teeth perfectly though.

Any bobblehead collector who loves Gremlins should definitely pick Gizmo up, and Stripe too. If I could only have one between them, Stripe easily wins because of the detailed sculpt and better paint, but Gizmo's no slouch. I just wish he had a different pose or something to make him stand out a bit more. If you can get this little guy for the original price or less, go for it.
