5On the Fun Track!  Oct 11, 2005 By Mom of Five "Mom"
I just gave this toy to my 3 year old for his birthday. He loves trains and loves Little People, so this was a big hit. It was easy to put together and has had hours of play in just a few days. He is quite rough with his toys so this has taken a beating already. It's holding up wonderfully. His 6 year old brother and 8 month old brother like playing with it too. I thought it would get boring after awhile with the short track, but the child can make the train go in the figure 8 or in an oval. The train stops in front of the station where music plays. My son hooks other Little People vehicles that have the hitch on them on the back of the train to make it longer. It's another fun and durable toy from Fisher Price. I love the Little People toys for my kids and this one was no disappointment.

5Come on everybody body, ride the train....  Jan 27, 2006 By Charity S. Hardin
We purchased this item for my son for Christmas '05. He was 12 months old at the time. We set it up in the living room under the tree, along with several other presents, and it was the first thing that our son went for in the morning. (I have to mention that my husband played with it for the better part of an hour the night before.)

The conductor is the perfect size to be used as a Binky. The poor little conductor stayed in our son's mouth for the rest of Christmas morning, and a lot of the time since then. He plays with the train every day, but usually just with the engine. He brings it into the kitchen or living room, and it runs quite well on most floor surfaces; carpet, linoleum, tile. It bogs down a little on the bathroom rug, but I don't see that as being a problem.

I think that this toy has great staying power. Right now, my son (at 13 months) does not really play with the set as intended; i.e. running the train around the track, but he gets a lot of enjoyment out of it and I believe it will hold his attention for the next few years. We have a few other Fisher-Price Little People sets (like the Ramps Around Garage) and are planning on adding more over the next year, and it's nice that all the pieces are compatible and you can basically build a little city.

There are a lot of cute details of the train set that you may not see by looking at the box. In the "farm" area, the windmill on the barn turns. At the train depot, the clock hands turn. And my favorite is the "country" area. There is a swing in the tree that the Little People fit in, and it actually swings. Very cute. There is also a taxi station, but it doesn't have any moving parts; it's just a platform with a pay phone and a curb area. You also get three Little People (the conductor and two passengers), some luggage, a box of fruit, and a potted plant. All of these fit in the train cars or sit as scenery in the different areas, but do not attach anywhere... great for imaginative play.

Over all, we are very pleased with the train set. It was worth the money, and I think it has a long "life expectancy", play-wise. And, like most other Fisher-Price toys, it's very well constructed and can take the abuse that a typical baby dishes out.

5Super cute and great for girls too!!!  Jul 14, 2006 By lola
We had a wonderful wooden train set but no where to set it up and my girls are really in to princess etc (ages 4 and 2) but also love trains. We gave the other set away and got this for our youngest for her 2nd birthday and they both played with it literally all day long. It worked great, super simple to set up and dismantle. The sounds are no overly annoying and it's compact shape works great in smaller homes or if you just don't want a giant train table. I would definitely recommend and will buy as a gift as well.. great product!

5My son LOVES this train!  Dec 16, 2005 By Tracy Davis
We bought this train with some of the birthday money from my son's second birthday party. It is the one toy that he plays with every day, and he is now 27 months. He usually takes it off of the track and plays with it on the kitchen table or any other surface in the house. It not only will run on the provided track, but also carpet, hardwood, table top or any other flat surface. This was a great purchase and highly recommended.

5Stands up to Godzilla  Nov 07, 2006 By Anonymous
This train is the most forgiving and durable train ever! My son received this for his first birthday and for days and days all he did was walk on it, sit on it, slam the cars around on it, and more. When he got a little older, maybe around 16 months, he started to be able to play with it properly and now that he's almost 2, he plays with it all the time. The cars of the train stay on the track easily and are simple for a very young child to successfully run. It also has some cute sound effects that match up with the locations the train is passing on the track (swingset, farmers' market, gas station or train depot) as well as a train whistle sound that goes off when the train starts and stops. This is a great Little People set for a child who at least a year old.
