Liked it once I covered the speaker with tape! Feb 06, 2007

My son received this as a gift for becoming a big brother. It was pretty annoying at first, while having a newborn in the house. But my sister gave me a tip that I'd like to pass along. If you cover the speaker with tape (I used regular scotch but did a double layer) it makes the volume much lower and acceptable. Now I don't care how many times he pushes the button. He doesn't really play with the items inside much but seems to like the pack. It was hard for him to open at first (2 1/2 yrs old) but now he has no problem at age 3.

A Good Enough Toy Sep 24, 2006

First, the $30 is it listed for is not worth it! I know I paid a lot less than this when I purchased it from Amazon when it first came out.
My 2 1/2 year old (3 now) enjoyed playing with this when he first got it. It is nicely made and comes with a baby jaguar, a cast for the jaguar's foot, a plastic xray and stethascope. My son never plays with any of these things. He uses the backpack to carry around his own little "treasures".
The volume is a bit loud, but it's not that often that he presses for it to talk. He did have it talk and sing all the time when he initially got it. The novelty of a talking backpack wore off and he uses it primarily as a little tote.
Most toys like these will provide short term entertainment and my son will always go back to the trusty hot wheels cars and playdoh. For the price I paid for it, it was worth it to see how excited he was to get Diego's backpack. Plus, it sparked some imaginitive play which I enjoy seeing him do. For the price they're asking for it now($30)...I would have to say that I probably wouldn't purchase it.

Great for diego fans! Jul 16, 2006
By W. Jenkins I recently bought this for my 3 year old daughter. She LOVES it! The only problem I have with it is it is a little loud. Of course she isn't bothered by it. It says a few phrases and sings the rescue pack song from Go Diego Go. The pieces that come with it are adorable. It has the cutest baby Jaguar and you can put a tiny plastic bandage on his foot. Really cute. I felt it was resonably priced at [...].

It would be 5 but... Sep 07, 2006
By Nicole TOO LOUD! If it had a volume control or something it would be VERY nice. I find myself covering the volume with my hand half the time. Also, the toys it comes with aren't very interactive (ie: hard plastic, not posable) except for stethascope. Otherwise it's a pretty nice toy. Maybe a bit pricey considering it doesn't do much except contain some plastic toys and play some music, but it is a brand name so I guess that explains it! Otherwise the owner likes it very much, however he likes a cheaper and quieter toy (Mr. Potato Head 3 Friends Set) he got at the same time much, much more!

Waste of Money Jan 17, 2011
By Isadora My son absolutely LOVES Diego and I was looking a Rescue Pack for him for Christmas. He is 2 yrs old. This was the biggest waste of money. First of all, the backpack cant really be used as a backpack. The music it plays is way too loud. The stethoscope is awkward and difficult to use. My son only plays with the baby jaguar and the other baby animal that came in it. Don't waste your money!!
