Baby loves this doll Oct 13, 2007
By vknoesel This was the first doll my daughter got and she loves it. She started playing with it at 6 months old and at 1 year she is still cuddling it. She loves to chew on her hair though. It's washable and you can stick it in the dryer. I love this doll.

Well constructed Sep 07, 2007
By R. Anderson My 19 month old has had this doll for about 2 months. She knows it by name and also that it is a doll. She kisses it alot, and hugs it (it is really soft and snuggly) and also tries to share her snacks with it. My daughter likes to put Sonja in a chair or push her gently down the slide on the Kangaroo Climber. She loves when I "animate" Sonja and use her to demonstrate how to do things.
I also use the doll to teach body parts and other things like "hat" and "flower". When I ask where a specific body part is, she points it out on the doll, and then the same body part on herself. I also show her flashcards with pictures, and she goes to get Sonja to show me various things on the doll that correspond to the flashcards, as well as trying to say the word too. This doll gets a lot of love and my daughter seems to understand that she is a doll. The doll has no ears, but my daughter will touch the area in which there should be ears when asked.
The other thing I like is that the doll is well constructed. The parts are sewn in very well and it cleans well with a damp cloth.
Overall I recommend this doll as a first doll for toddlers.

Baby's baby Nov 02, 2007
By TM This doll was at my daughter's daycare. When we arrive in the morning she crawls directly over to the shelf to get the doll and she keeps it with her all day. She loves it so much I had to get one for home too. An important plus, this doll can be put in the washing machine and dryer.

Plush & Cuddly doll Aug 31, 2010
By AuntieM Gund makes one of the best constructed dolls out there & best of all for mothers; this doll is machine washable.
I bought this doll for my Niece who just turned one. It's the perfect size for a toddler. Sonja's outfit is so soft and the body encourages little ones to snuggle up.
