3Ok, but it has a few problems  Apr 08, 2005 By Mom of three
I would say if your child really likes Care Bears then it is a good toy for you. If your child likes checkers you might not want this toy. The Care Bears sit on white and light blue clouds, which are not easy to tell apart. Also the board could be stronger. My 1 year old had the board for 2 or 3 mins and was able to rip it in half.

4Great Toy  May 06, 2004 By C. Hankins
This is a really cute toy. Not only is checkers a fun thinking game, this makes it more fun. It has all the care bears and the king pieces are a nice touch. I would recommend this game to kids who love checkers as well as the care bears. The person who created this game had a really good idea. This game would go great with a care bear party theme.

4adorable!  Feb 19, 2006 By Chris
We bought this checker set for our 4 yr old Care Bear lover- and so far none of the adults in our family have figured out how to really play checkers with it. But, the pieces are so cute that we don't care. We let the kids play it their way, and they love the little Care Bear pieces. I do feel silly after reading the other reviews that we haven't played checkers with it because apparently other parents can figure it out. I agree with the reviewer that said maybe you won't want it if you really want to play checkers. It seems hard to tell which squares are which. Otherwise, lots of fun!

5Crown me!  Aug 04, 2004 By Victoria Tarrani "writer, editor, artist, designer"
The kidlets in my family love this game. The multi-color Care Bears are adorable, and sit on either a blue or a white cloud, thereby creating the two opposing colors.

It comes with six crowns, and they love yelling, "Crown me!" I personally think there should be more than six. The first time I played the game with my seven-year-old little friend I played strategically to win, and did. I explained that now she knows I can teach her to strategize; she is a very bright child.

My three-year-old little friend also loves the game. He likes moving the pieces around the board everywhere, so even though he is not ready to learn how to play, when he is prepared to learn how to win, his sister will be able to teach him.

This game is an exciting way to teach children skills such as analysis, patience, and strategy. They do not even realize they are learning. Take the time to teach your child to play and win, as well as the joy of playing together.

The only detriment that I see is the common one among board games -- eventually they rip along the folds. However, the price is excellent, and I do not anticipate replacing this game soon
