Our neighbors taught my husband and me how to play canasta about 7 years ago using regular playing cards. I found this game at a local retail store about 5 years ago and loved how easy it was to play canasta with these cards. I taught my kids (8 and 13 at the time) how to play and the pictures on the cards really helped them quickly master the game.
The 'Wild' and 'Stop' cards are clearly marked and it is handy that the point values are printed right on the card. The instructions are very clear and easy to read.
We completely wore out the first set I bought and may need to replace the second set soon! I highly recommend this game!!

Calienta Canesta is a lot of fun. A great 2 person game. Revised version of the orginal Canesta.

My mom and I have been playing this game for years. We couldn't find it locally so I ordered it here for my mom's birthday. It's got an extra twist than just playing canasta and the graphics on the cards are cool. If you like playing canasta and would like a little different version, try this one!

It was great to find this product. Our family rediscovered canasta a few years back and we play whenever we get together. I have taught friends and relatives to play, then purchased this product for each of them. The instructions are easy to understand and the game is a fun one for 2 or more players.

This is my second Canasta set--we received it as a gift after our first set came up missing. The original set was a gift too. We learned the game and taught our families and it is now a favorite. I love Canasta because it is fun to play with even just two people, but can be enjoyed by up to six. We have played with odd numbers too--a little confusing but we made it work. It's a great game to take on trips--just a small box of cards (and remember to bring the rules because its easy to forget some of the "meld" requirements, etc) and hours of fun. I think that this game is so great to play because it combines luck (what cards you draw) with strategy (when to play your cards, what to hold on to, when to pick up the pile). I have never played the "Caliente!" version of Canasta. I haven't even ever read about why it is different than the regular rules.
If you love card games you will love Canasta!
