Cute, low-key toy Apr 12, 2006
By Buffalo Gal This is a fun toy for our 6 month old son. There are lots of activities to entertain little ones, such as the sunshine wtih the spinning rays, the bluebird that can be spun up and down the pole, the hopping bunny that makes silly noises, the bumble bee that can spin around, the flower in the middle that lights up and of course, the winding bar and the little friends (catepillar, butterfly and ladybug)that can be moved along the bars. The bar's twists and turns can be moved to form different silly shapes and each time it's moved, a song (one of three) is played and the flower in the middle lights up. The catepillar, butterfly and ladybug also have different textures with lots of bumps and ridges that are sure to delight babies. Our little guy enoys moving the bar and bopping the bunny to make a 'boing' sound, but he doesn't quite get the concept that he can wind the insects around that bar. Maybe that will come in time. Overall, this is a fun, attractive toy that presents many different play and learning opportunities for babies. Hopefully, our son will continue to like this in the months to come.

Brilliant Basics Twistin Bead Bar Jan 14, 2007
By B. Green
"good granny"
I was very please with the quality of this toy.
Not a "basic" May 12, 2007
By S. Hamilton I was disappointed with this toy since I had liked several of the other toys in the brilliant basics line. This toy is not in my opinion a basic as it has all of the music and lights that I didn't want. Also the twisting of the bead bar does limit it's use as a traditional bead bar. However, my 10 month old daughter does like this toy - she mostly just picks it up by the bar and bang it on the floor.
Too difficult to use Mar 15, 2007

Very difficult to slide rings along bendy bar...which defeats the purpose of the toy. Spend your money on something else!!!
Cute but disappointing Jan 10, 2007
By C. Murphy I bought this for my 7 month old daughter thinking it would be like those bead bars you see at the doctors office. Unfortunately this is not quite what we received. The "beads" are cute little bug rings but they just don't slide over the bar well. There are also very few positions that the bar can be in where the rings will even slide. The rabbit and bird do keep her attention quite well so I gave it the 3 stars. She may enjoy when she gets older but so far we have not been that impressed.
