If you've been searching for a game to liven up parties, Bop It may be the answer. Bop It also can be enjoyed with just a few people and kids can practice responding to the game's electronic verbal instructions by themselves. When activated, the whistle-shaped Bop It instructs players, via a musical beat, to Pull It, Twist It or Bop It-the top yellow piece of the toy. Players choose from one of three different games: Solo Bop, Vox Bop and Beat Bop. What gets exciting for players is the speed with which the commands are given and the confusion of the players who pull when they should twist or bop when they should pull. Bop It encourages children to follow directions. But they must listen closely to the directions, which sometimes may sound jumbled against the music and the excitement of the other players. The toys stimulates social interaction plus thinking and motor skills. | | | |

It's the best toy ever! Nov 24, 1999 I reccommend Bop It to any parent wanting a game that will entertain their kids (and even themselves) for hours. It not only is fun for all ages but also improves hand-eye cordination! Buy it today, you won't regret it!

So much fun for all ages Jul 01, 1999 I'm 28 and I can't put this toy down. It's basically a souped up version of Simon (that electronic color "memory game" we had when we were little). This is even more fun because there is music and sounds. It tells you what to do -- "bop it...twist it...pull it" -- and you respond to it's commands. If you are too slow or make a mistake it makes the funniest screaming noise. You can compete against yourself on how long you can keep up with the toy or play with a group (which is very funny -- everyone gets laughing). With a group you can see who can last the longest or play a version where Bop It tells you to "pass it" and you pass the toy to the next person. Very very fun toy. I highly recommend it for kids and adults.

Great Fun Until It Breaks Sep 18, 2000

My son wanted this toy so badly, and I bought it for his last Christmas. With normal play, and numerous battery changes, it broke in only a couple of months. Make sure you save the receipt (unlike I did).

holy cow Nov 09, 1999 I work in a correctional facility for juveniles. This game entertain's them for hours. For some unknown reason, this game cannot be put down by anyone when they start playing it. If a group is playing this, the competion is out of control. Buy this thing!

bop-it is like any other toy-fun at first,in the closet next Jul 20, 1999 Being a couple years off from teenagerland myself , I probably get more frustrated with things than I would like , but thats me. My cousin has bop-it and I try it whenever I come over , so it's addictive , but it gets less and less enjoyable each visit , which is probably because bop-it's so challenging. I love to play with it when it just says the commanding words , bop-it , twist-it and pull-it , (hand-it when your playing with another person) and then , just when I think I'm going to win (if you can , I'm not sure , I never got there) it screams (annoying) and makes a drumming di-di-did noise , and then is silent. It gets more challenging as you play because it keeps getting more and more fast-paced. I have two things that I really hate about bop-it: After a-lot of tries at "Beating Bop-it" , it starts doing sounds in place of the words. As much as I try and get my brain to follow it's commands , my hands don't go fast enough and bop-it screams more than usual. Also , sometimes bop-it just makes noises and won't start! It gets really tiring to wait (sometimes a full minute or longer) for it to get over it's sillines and start a new game. One reviewer wrote that he/she brought it to school , which I strongly wouldn't reccomend anyone doing unless you love detention slips. Despite these minor-defects that I wrote about , I hope that , if you had really wanted one , my review opinion wont stop you from finding your true inner-self with bop-it. Ciao ;-)
