My daughter spotted the box in our local grocery store. We were in a rush, but I noticed that it was on sale, and I had almost twenty dollars in coupons, so I went back without her to check it out. Fortunately, they had one set up. If you look at the bed in the photo, you will see that it takes up the entire space; there isn't even room for Barbie to stand. The table, chairs, and vanity are the only other furniture. For that price, even after coupons, you could easily buy some accessories on an auction site and have plenty left over for a huge Barbie wardrobe or other items. Try to see it in person before you hand over such a large amount of cash.

First, I want to thank Amazon for shipping this to APOs, and so quickly (before Christmas-yeah!) My daughter is 6 and LOVES Barbie and princesses... Not only was this in our price range, but it was a rarity that it actually shipped overseas to our army post.
Pros: Great decoration for princess room, it covers some basics if you don't have anything Barbie (bed, clock, perfume bottles, table and chairs, plates, teapot...). The second floor flips out of the way to make it easier to play on the ground. It gives the FEELING of princess. It is satisfying for awhile.
Cons: Extremely flimsy second floor. I see it start to bow everytime she places a doll in the bed. There is not enough play area there, and it is not sturdy enough for some real play. So, child must be careful. So, we'll see how long THAT lasts-not good if child is playing with another. I could also tell there wasn't enough room for barbies to eat on ground floor. I saw her get very frustrated over dolls, plates, chairs constantly falling over. This is fairly big, and NOT portable. There is no detail on back,so play is very one-sided. It sits against my daughter's bedroom wall.
However, from a close study of the photos, I knew this beforehand, and was willing to pay $21 for the PROS. If living in the states, I would look into all-wood barbie-sized dollhouse. The kidcraft ones on this site are SO CUTE, and were even on sale around the time I was looking... Alas, if Amazon would ship these items to military bases, they would "make a killing" The cost in euros is "out of the question" for MANY of us...
In short-If you want a touch of princess at a great price,keep castle in wish list, pray and wait for the price to go back down...Do not pay over $30 for this item.

This did not hold up well after putting it together. After we got it together, we added 4 barbies to the second floor and it was ready to fall down. Cute idea but bad product. 2 stars because the furniture is cute and one doll can be used for the 2nd floor

I got this for [...] for my 7 year old. It looks cute when put together, but comes apart easily. My daughter loved it at first, but it just didn't hold up well.

I gave this product 4 stars because my daughter loves it. I purchased in on sale for $20 and wouldn't have paid much more than that. It is large and the furniture is hard plastic so it will be durable, but the castle itself is not as sturdy as I would have expected of a product normally priced at $80. Catch it on sale and you won't be disappointed.
